The Practice was established in 1983. It operates out of offices in Wimborne. 'In-house' computer-aided design/draughting facilities are utilised, where practicable, in order to ensure that the concept design is the best option. We are aware that our time should not be spent in laborious calculation, but in producing quick, practical and economically designed structures. We undertake work to serve the Construction Industry in all spheres of structural engineering. In particular, we have good experience in reinforced and prestressed concrete, structural steelwork, timber, masonry, aluminium etc. All design works are undertaken by a Practice Director/ Associate, with construction drawing work similarly supervised. In addition to the design of 'new-build' projects of small and medium size, up to a contract value of £5 million, we have experience in 'package deal' engineering for Design & Build tenders, feasibility/viability studies, insurance and legal related diagnosis of building failures, Expert Witness work, arbitration and project management. With the onset of a single European market, and the ultimate need to ensure compliance with BS5750/ ISO.9000, the Practice is committed to installing a total quality management system and ultimately obtaining BSI accreditation or similar. We are also actively liaising with Planning Supervisors, where necessary, to ensure our conversance and compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994.
